Creative Writing - 11.08.2020

A few years ago, I wrote a poem in around 5 minutes during my lunch break at work and I didn't think much about until it come in hardy at a spoken word event which I attended.  I hadn't planned to read it out, but some gentle pressure was applied by friends and work colleagues so I went up and gave it my best shot and the result is below:

My powers of mind-reading are unparalleled...

Apparently, I can see through to people's souls, sensing whether they're dark or not.
But my specialty, is the mind.  I know what people are thinking before the words quiver on their lips.
I know what they are going to say before they speak, so I can fix my face in preparation for it. I can fawn, when required. Be happy for them, when personally, I'm not.  Giving the person a sense of care and security.

My God, it works - no one yet has questioned my mind-reading abilities!
By osmosis, I can see what my work colleagues are plotting - locked away in the next room or further away across this vast planet. Also, with my powers of telepathy, I can alter decisions and seal high valued deals. This is another string to my heavily loaded mind-reading bow.
I can anticipate wars and can work out who's going to win the lottery. Even down to pinpointing, with military-style precision, where next door's cat's at. Just by the flick of a switch in my mind - it's all revealed to me to see.

I'm just too clever - a mind reading expert and telepathic possibility.  That's me.
