A few more prompts to start off the week which I thought I would share.
Time after time exercise
It is 03:00 in the morning, witching hour, and Ingrid cannot sleep. Her eyes are wide awake staring at the dark shadows in her bedroom. Are they shadows from the streetlights outside or are they shadows that her mind has created? The spider plant against the wall looks like a witch's broom. The wicker cone of dusty silky flowers, maybe an inverted witch's hat. The dark void of the mirror, maybe a portal to another world? The longer Ingrid stares, the more the shadows grow and change until she pulls the covers over her head, trying to hide from the shadows of her past and from her future.

Boredom - prompt
The yard was grey under the darkening winter skies. Polly sat on the slate coloured wall, swinging her legs against it. She looked out onto the dull, broken down barn opposite, with the main doors hanging awkwardly off their hinges, and waited. She decided that she would wait 10 minutes more and then she would go inside to the warmth of her house where her mother was baking biscuits for her. ‘Okay, 9 minutes more and that’s it’, announced Polly loudly, hoping that by doing this action, he would hurry up and come quicker. But this only evoked the cawing of a crow above as it glided for a short while and swooped into the field beyond. Polly exhaled loudly, watching her warm breath hit the frigid air and dissipate. Polly felt cold, in her warm coat so she eased herself off the wall slowly and ran towards her home and to a helping of warm biscuits and cocoa.
